College Football: Week 2 Rankings
Here are my own personal Top 25 College Football Rankings. Enjoy them. Hate them. Whichever is convenient.

First off: I was wrong about Cal-UTenn.
I agree mostly with the top 25, except with Michigan. Come on now Shaun, you can make all the arguments you want to but, at the end of the day, they got beat by a 1AA team. How can you say they are better than the teams below them on a bad day (i.e. Saturday) when those teams won their respective games?
The talent is there but there is officially no wind in the sails at this point. I liken that loss to Pittsburgh 2002… you just knew the choke was on from that point on. It just happened way too early for the Ann Arbor-ites this year.
Oregon is next week for them and they have just the same type of offense that a 1AA team (and teams for YEARS have) used to dominate Michigan… the spread. Oregon also has a better QB, a much much better RB, and more all-around speed that App St. Michigan will lose to Oregon and Mike Hart & company will be kicking themselves for not bolting last year.

You make very good points but here’s my answer… Had Michigan made that field goal at the end and won 35-34, they would have definitely still dropped in the rankings…but only to 8, 9 at the worst. Because they lost, I penalized them 15 spots but I don’t think that one blocked field goal should be the difference between being ranked 8th and being dropped completely. Had they been blown out, it would have been a different story. But you and I both know that a field goal being blocked was the difference between a 3 or 4 spot drop and a 15-20 spot drop.
With regards to Oregon, that will be a hard fought game but don’t be surprised if Michigan comes out strong. They were national title contenders 5 days ago for a reason.
